New Cowgirl Camp

June 29-July 3, 2026
Lazy R Ranch
Cheney, WA

One of the most beloved programs at Roots of Resilience is New Cowgirl Camp, a five-day immersive learning experience for women exploring regenerative ranching. Held at Lazy R Ranch in Cheney, Washington, the camp blends classroom learning with hands-on experience in a working ranch environment.

Participants learn practical skills such as:

  • Low-stress livestock handling

  • Grazing planning and pasture assessment

  • Fencing and basic ranch infrastructure

  • Farm and ranch business planning

  • Building supportive networks in agriculture

More than anything, New Cowgirl Camp is about community and mentorship. Participants arrive from diverse backgrounds- some brand new to agriculture, others already working in the field- and spend the week learning, working, and reflecting together.

By the end of the week, campers leave with new skills, new relationships, and a clearer sense of how they want to participate in the future of agriculture.
