Peter Byck may be well-known to you. He is the producer of the beloved Carbon Cowboys video collection he began in 2015 with Soil Carbon Cowboys. Leaders in the regenerative agriculture movement, including Gabe Brown, Will Harris, Allen Williams, and Ray Archuleta, were introduced to most of us in Byck's films.
Byck's most ambitious project has been leading and documenting the results of a $10 million research study comparing Adaptive Multi-Paddock (AMP) grazing with conventional grazing. In that project, he collaborated with 20 scientists and 10 farm families to focus on soil health, soil carbon storage, microbial/bug/bird biodiversity, water cycling, and more.
The research findings are documented in a four-part docuseries called Roots So Deep, You Can See the Devil Down There. The series presents inventive farmers and maverick scientists building a path to solving climate change with hooves, heart, and soil.
The series was initially released in hundreds of theatrical venues throughout the country. On May 28, the videos became available online here. A 30-day rental of the four-hour series costs $20. We encourage you to watch and share these videos widely with your colleagues, family, and friends.
