The United Nations has released a new study, The State of Food and Agriculture 2023, that looks at the cost of food in a greater context than the price at the store. The number is shocking and may very well be underestimated.
What is the value of water if it can’t be used? Or topsoil that has gone forever into the ocean and can never grow anything again? One of Alan Savory’s most disturbing quotes is, “More topsoil is lost annually than the amount of food produced.”
This report from the UN examines the issue and should open the doors for a long, hard look at the importance of regenerative agriculture.
